Rebates are paid on the exact outdoor and indoor match, by its AHRI number. Enter the number from your quote and we check it against each program's rules, one requirement at a time.
What we check
Each program sets its own minimums. These are the ones that decide most Colorado heat pump rebates.
- Cold-climate rating. ENERGY STAR cold-climate models keep at least 70% of their rated output at 5°F, with a COP of 1.75 or better there. Xcel’s cold-climate tier uses the same two numbers.
- The exact match. The outdoor unit, indoor unit and (for dual fuel) furnace together carry one AHRI number. Change one part and the number, and maybe the rebate, changes.
- Efficiency. SEER2 for cooling and HSPF2 for heating, from the AHRI certificate.
- Program rules we cannot see from a model. Income, preapproval, registered contractors and your utility are checked in the rebate finder.
